TankCheck™ Fish Species

Sometimes you just need to find out exactly what species of fish you have in your aquarium. Checking the exact fish species present in your tank is easy with TankCheck™ Species, which uses the latest environmental DNA (eDNA) technology. Your fish are constantly shedding material and DNA into their tank and we can use this to give you a precise list of the exact species your tank contains.

We send you out a simple water filtration kit which contains:

• Sterile 50mL Syringe
• Sterile water filtration disc
• Nitrile gloves

You send us back a disc after you have filtered 100mL of water through it, capturing the fish DNA present in your tank. We use the latest DNA sequencing technologies to determine the fish species in your tank.
